This city along the Delaware River is a model for how preservation reaps economic benefits to a community. Lambertville’s historic district, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is a magnet for artists and visitors. The restoration of the Lambertville Station exemplifies the city’s understanding of the human need to connect with the past. The two and a half-story train station, created in 1867 by renowned architect Thomas Ustick Walter (of U.S Capital Dome fame), fell into abandonment before it was restored to become a thriving restaurant.
