America's at the Mall
Fifty years ago, the word "mall" meant very little to Americans, but today "the Mall" is a shopper's Shangri-la. The ultimate symbol of American consumerism, malls, in many ways, have reflected American society since their development some 20-odd years ago. This documentary looks at the birth of the modern Mall and the factors which brought the Mall into existence. Then, the program examines how malls have developed and become an important part of modern American society. The film concludes by looking at the future of the Mall and by touring the largest mall in America. Produced 1992.
