Traffic accidents are the leading cause of fatalities among teenagers. At least 38% of all teen deaths in the United States are auto-related. Yet, most of these deaths could have been prevented if safety first had become a priority for many of these young drivers. Presently, the National Safety Council is trailblazing new ground to confront this crisis on a national level. Locally, the State of New Jersey is taking an active role in spreading the message of safety on the road by allocating funds to local community agencies. This Images/Imagenes special highlights the outstanding achievements made by the Latino community agency FOCUS in its efforts to reach out to teen drivers with a music video, bill boards and workshops on how to be a better driver.
