Holocaust Resource Center - Central Regional High School in Bayville is a demonstration site for holocaust education. There are only two high schools in the state to be so designated. The holocaust resource room has exhibits and space classroom activities. In addition to the resource center, the school offers a course called “Man’s Inhumanity to Man”.
Sister Sadie - Students at Johnstone Elementary School in Vineland are riveted by “Sister Sadie the Reading Lady”. Three teachers created a lively and entertaining weekly school television show. Danniele Muller is Sister Sadie, Dawn Bernard is a creative advisor, and Ed Wright is the cameraman. Sadie, with her faux Jamaican accent, invites zany guests, adding to the comedy and entertainment. This creative program inspires children to read and improves their literacy skills.
Life Support - Educational Support Professionals are often overlooked. Their dedication and hard work often goes unnoticed, but not by teachers at Copeland Middle School in Rockaway Township. Milly Talbot is a paraprofessional who assists teachers with special needs children. Teacher Debbie Savage says Milly is underpaid, gives unselfishly hours, spends her own money for supplies and goodies for the children, and impacts the lives of hundreds of children over the years.
One Room School House – Step back into the mid 1800s with students from William Tatem Elementary School in Collingswood. Third graders dress in colonial clothing, refer to their principal as Headmaster, and assume the names of families who lived in the community in 1854.
