Habitat Partners – Students at Hillside Elementary School explore ecology lessons via videoconference with their teacher Katrina Macht who is on location at a Smithsonian Tropical Field Station in Panama. This program is funded through the NJEA Frederick L. Hipp Foundation for Excellence in Education.

Pirate Players – West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South has an educational theater group called Pirate Players. This group works with students at Grover Middle School on topics ranging from peer pressure to sexuality.

Read & Run – Children from Carlstadt will combine the love of reading with an appreciation for a healthy lifestyle. Lincoln School students in grades kindergarten through second will celebrate Read Across America with creative reading activities followed up by fun exercise and healthy refreshments. The parents will meet separately to learn about the public library and get tips on nutrition and health for their children.

Cybliography – Library Media Specialist Laurie Murrell and her eighth grade students from Fieldstone Middle school in Montvale created a word they hope someday will be found in the dictionary. The word is cybliography, which combines the word cyber from the computer world, and bibliography, which lists works referred to in a text.
