Convention - On Dec. 28, 1853 NJEA held its first
convention to improve teaching in New Jersey. Now 150
years later, the NJEA Convention has turned into the
world's largest educational gathering - offering professional
development opportunities during an action packed two
days in November.
150th Anniversary - NJEA will
celebrate its 150th Anniversary during its annual convention
with educational displays, museums and exhibits. Teachers
will also be unveiling a new curriculum for high school
students on NJEA's labor history.

Grant 10th Anniversary - Join Gov. McGreevey in
celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the NJEA Frederick
L. Hipp Foundation for Excellence in Education. Ten
years ago NJEA created this grant designed to fund creative
and innovative ideas for the classroom. Since then more
than 180 classroom projects have received nearly a quarter
of a million dollars in funding.

History - Historian Rosemary Knab will share some
of the rich history of the New Jersey Education Association
and how the organization helped and continues to help
improve public schools.
