Special
Friends - Fifth graders from Mt. Horeb School in
Warren Township pair up with students with special needs
from the neighboring town of North Plainfield. This
10-year-old program teaches the fifth graders about
tolerance, patience and compassion.
I
Know a Hero - Fourth graders at Morris Plains Borough
School learn how everyday heroes shape their lives.
The students will honor their heroes by doing a power
point presentation, and giving them a copy of a class
book. This program is funded through a grant from the
NJEA Frederick L. Hipp Foundation for Excellence in
Education.
Senior
Year - Two Pemberton Township High School students
gain the respect of members of the New Jersey State
Board of Education. Pangelina Flowers and Anthony DiGirolamo
addressed the board as they spoke with confidence and
intelligence about the importance of school-to-work
programs and the senior year of high school.
Galapagos
- Marcia Hasting brings the excitement of the
Galapagos Islands to her students at Eisenhower Middle
School in Roxbury. With the help of several grants,
she was able to take underwater video of sharks, iguanas
and other exciting sea creatures.
