Making
Dreams Take Flight - Fifth-graders at Warren E.
Sooy Elementary in Hammonton are building a real plane
- one that will actually take flight! Additionally the
students are learning all about aviation. During Black
History Month the students will meet Tuskeegee Airmen
and the Eagle Flight Squadron, an aviation program for
young people.
Teacher
of the Year - Barbara LaSaracina, a fifth grade
teacher at Woodland School in Warren Township (Somerset
County), is New Jersey's Teacher of the Year. While
she inspires her students, she also has a tremendous
impact on the lives of new teachers.

Language - Schools often teach Spanish and French
as a foreign language. But at the Walnut Street School
in Woodbury sign language is offered as a foreign language.
Spanish
- Students, parents and community members from Washington
Township are learning Spanish at the Long Valley Middle
School. Jannette Ezeta, who came from Peru just last
year, motivates an entire community to learn the love
of a new language.
