Camp
Bernie - Students from Jersey City schools leave
the boundaries of the city to attend environmental classes
at Camp Bernie. They also learn about trust, respect
and responsibility.
Pencils
a la Cart - Delsea Regional High School students
with multiple disabilities can obtain occupational and
daily living skills along with academic skills required
by the state by operating a mobile school store. The
group travels from school to school selling school supplies.
This program is a Hipp Grant that was funded through
a special donation from former N.J. State Senator John
Rocco.
Shopping
Mall - Eighth-graders at the Orchard Valley Middle
School in Sewell will design and construct models of
a store. The students will learn about building, leasing,
and owning a store, paying for utilities and insurance,
and other aspects of running a business such as promotions,
sales, and liability.
K-5
Buddy Program - The kindergartners at Collins Elementary
in Livingston are matched with fifth-graders in a special
Buddy Program. The fifth-graders learn from teaching,
and the kindergartners adore their "young teachers".
