KUDOS
- The first
presidential election of this century has third through
sixth graders in Frelinghuysen Township interested in
politics. The students are learning first hand about
the government and the political process. This program
is funded through the NJEA Hipp Grant.
Family
Science - Children today spend only 15 percent of
their time in natural places. So teachers in an urban
and suburban district decided to take the children outside
into their environment. Students and their parents from
Jackson Academy in East Orange and Hillside Elementary
in Bridgewater-Raritan are participating in this project
which is funded through the NJEA Hipp Grant.
Culinary
Arts - The culinary arts and food services program
at Cumberland County Technical Education Center prepares
students for successful careers in the food industry.

from ice carving to butchering.
Eggnauts
- Oakcrest H.S. students conduct a high-tech egg drop
with the help of a McDonald's Classroom Grant. The egg
drop is part of Spaceweek 2000 activities in Mays Landing.
