Reading
Buddies* - John F. Kennedy Elementary of Jamesburg
students are publishing books in an effort to promote
the love of reading and writing, as well as build their
self-esteem.
Coast
Guard - A helicopter lands in the Roselle Park High
School athletic field to provide students with a real-life
application of physics and engineering principals. An
advanced mechanical drawing class will observe the landing
of a U.S. Coast Guard search and rescue helicopter.
Rainbow
Connection* - Students and their families at New
Egypt Elementary School in Plumstead Township participate
in workshops to learn how art connects to other subjects,
like reading, science and math.
Space
Week - Oakcrest High School students learn about
the wonders of astronomy during Spaceweek 2000, thanks
to a grant from McDonalds. The students in Mays Landing
participate in science based activities involving our
constellation with the help of the Internet, telescopes
and binoculars.
