Show
#103:
Math
in This Town - Torey J. Sabatini School students
from Madison discover that geometry is part of their
everyday world. During a walking tour, the students
see the angles and designs in local architecture. This
program is funded through the NJEA Frederick L. Hipp
Foundation for Excellence in Education.
Gabriel
Anniversary - For the past 10 years Mark Melamed
has involved his students at Memorial Intermediate School
in Vineland in a fundraiser called the Gabriel Project.
The students raise money to bring children from Tanzania
to the states for life-saving heart surgeries. This
year the students celebrate the lives saved during a
celebration attended by former students and celebrities.
Elementary
Art - Maurice Hawk School teacher Robert Vogt sees
art as more than just play time for his first- through
third-grade students. The young Princeton Junction children
create incredible art projects, but more importantly
they receive a life-long appreciation for the arts.
Lessons
About Citizenship - When Morris Plains Borough students
were asked to write letters to get their friends back
from Iran, they learned lessons about citizenship, responsibility,
the laws of other countries, and most importantly about
friendship.
