Kate Megargee

Starting her broadcasting career in radio in Atlantic City, Kate moved on to a television anchor/reporter job in Maryland. From there, she worked as an anchor-reporter in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and for WQED-TV in Pittsburgh. Her other radio credits include anchor positions with WCAU radio and KYW Newsradio, both in Philadelphia.
In addition to her work on Classroom Close-up, NJ, Kate has co-produced the award-winning NJN specials “Faces of Aging: Life Options” and “Caregiving Solutions”, as well as “Diagnosis: Cancer”, “Pressure Point” and “Lead Alert: Playing With Poison”. She has also worked as an actress in TV commercials, as a spokesperson or host for numerous industrial training videos and DVDs, and as a voiceover narrator for numerous commercial and industrial projects. She has received awards from the Philadelphia Press Association and the Society of Professional Journalists. Her work has also been honored by the New Jersey Associated Press Broadcasters’ Association and the New Jersey State Bar Association.
Kate is a New Jersey native. She was raised in Ocean City and graduated from Montclair State University.
