Federal and state governments have acted to respond to this emergency. But more needs to be done to connect homeowners to critical information and essential services. NJN, along with several public television stations, was selected by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting to participate in an initiative designed to help raise awareness and assist communities during this housing crisis. In addition to the half-hour television special, NJN has created this website and partnered with NJ 2-1-1 (a referral service) as well as several community organizations to connect homeowners with the help they need.
The Facing the Mortgage Crisis project is a public engagement initiative based on a model from KETC/Channel 9 in St. Louis, Missouri. |
