What does it means to be a Black man in America?
That’s the question that filmmaker D. Channsin Berry…set out to answer. Over a period of eight years…Berry interviewed 63 men ages 14 to 90 from all walks of life…from all parts of the country…for his groundbreaking film --The Black Line- A Profile of the African American Man.
On this edition of Another View, host Candace Kelley interviews the filmmaker who reveals his personal reasons for undertaking this project. The program will also include excerpts from The Black Line where men candidly discuss their achievements and collective failures. This revealing program scratches beneath the surface of what it means to be a Black man in America, everything from fatherhood and love...to politics and identity.
