The
safe sex message is out in the open but HIV/AIDS
disease has taken the Black community under siege.
The Fight Against AIDS puts face on the disease
exploring what its like to live with the disease
and how it is effecting on the Black community.
The
show features Minister Carolyn Jenkins Peneda,
author of Preaching with AIDS. Peneda shares her
journey of how she contracted the disease in 1984
and is now living with full blown AIDS. "Faith"
a sixteen year old that was been HIV positive
will also share her story about living as an HIV
positive teen. Dr. Jim Oleske, Director for the
Division of Pulmonary, allergy, immunology and
infectious diseases at University Hospital sheds
light on "Faith," her prognosis and
how far the medical community has come in treating
HIV/AIDS
Commentator,
author and former White House Aide, Keith Boykin
also passionately responds to a New York Times
cover story on gay men who lead double lives and
live on the "down low." He gives insight
on what it will take to encourage dialogue about
the epidemic.
Guests
include Lawrence Ganges, Assistant Commissioner
for the Division for HIV/AIDS for New Jersey's
Department of Health & Senior Services and
Rosalind Ford of the Hyacinth AIDS Foundation
provide viewers with information on programs and
resources that are in place for those in need
