Photo Galleries from the 2008 Rhine River Cruise

Burt Wolf, host of PBS “Travels & Traditions” once again offered NJN members an opportunity to travel with him on NJN’s 2nd Annual River Cruise. From April 19th to April 27th, about 150 NJN members, including some repeat travelers who were on the inaugural Danube River Cruise, joined Burt on his 9-day Romantic Rhine River cruise that started in Amsterdam, traveled through Holland, Germany, and France and ended in Basel, Switzerland. The cruise itinerary included stops in Cologne, Coblenz, Rüdesheim, Heidelberg, Strasbourg, and Breisach. Throughout the cruise, Burt and his crew filmed material for a half-hour Travels & Traditions public television program about the cruise that allowed our members see how his television programs are produced. Because of his vast knowledge of the region, Burt was able to share his expertise about the places we visited along the way and provide stopovers at his friends’ restaurants who gave us a taste of the local cuisine and libations.
