Atlantic City Boys and Girls Club:
How Violence Leads to Juvenile Incarceration

The ten teen males at the Boys and Girls Club of Atlantic City decided to produce their documentary on teen violence, a topic that hits close to home. These teens provide a unique twist to their video because all of them are serving time in a Juvenile Detention Home. They hope to reach out to other teens and help them, so they don't end up in juvenile incarceration.

The group spent time in the Atlantic City community; they visited their homes, talked with several healthcare professionals, and conducted "man on the street" interviews. The teens also interviewed their anger management counselor and had a roundtable discussion on controlling emotions.

Before the project is completed, the teens visited a juvenile detention center to get down to the real reasons why teens commit violent acts. The teens also visited the NJN studios and recorded voiceovers and stand-ups as well.
