Teacher Guide to the Documentary
PRIOR
TO VIEWING THE DOCUMENTARY
A discussion with
the students should include the historical events noted on
the Holocaust time line. (Important terms are in bold print).
Review David Wisnia's time line, for his story is highlighted
in the documentary. Compare the map of David Wisnia's journey,
1926 - 1946, to the time line of the Holocaust documentary.

Suggested activities:
1. Encourage students
to research some of the bold face terms noted on the Holocaust
time line. This can be done as small group work or on an individual
basis.
2. The teacher
should present some of the bold face terms on the Holocaust
time line through lecture/explanation.
3. Discuss David
Wisnia's time line and map. Explore how this relates to the
events of the Holocaust.

1. What do you
know about the Holocaust?
2. What do you
want to learn about the Holocaust and this period of time
(1933 - 1945)?
3. Why do you think
David Wisnia's journey described in the documentary is important?
