Lessons for Life is an NJN documentary that examines how the Holocaust is taught in public schools.

New Jersey is leading the nation in the effort to teach students about the Holocaust. In addition to New Jersey, the documentary takes viewers to Germany, Poland and Israel to see how students there are being taught about this part of history and what lessons can be learned.

Through overseas missions, travels to concentration camps, international exchange programs with teachers and survivors' accounts, the documentary explores the challenges and achievements in teaching this difficult topic. The documentary also includes interviews with Holocaust experts and survivors such as Nobel Peace prize winner and author Elie Wiesel.

"Sometimes we must interfere. When human lives are endangered, when human dignity is in jeopardy, national borders and sensitivities become irrelevant. Whenever men or women are persecuted because of their race, religion, or political views, that place must - at that moment - become the center of the universe." -Elie Wiesel
