“Annie” / Howard Finster / Patrick Morelli / Who Shot Ya?

Kids and Dogs. "Annie"

annieWinner of 7 Tony Awards including Best Musical, "Annie" is a mix of rambunctious orphans, a president, a villainess, a billionaire, and, of course, a mutt named Sandy. State of the Arts takes you behind the scenes to watch how "Annie" and the cast work with the dog and wrangler to keep the dog moving right along.

annieAs if putting together a full-scale musical wouldn't make one's head spin fast enough, the Paper Mill Playhouse's new production of the Tony Award-winning Annie includes a cast of professional child actors who, in addition to rehearsing full-time, must be tutored for three hours a day, as well as a dog to play the role of "Sandy" - backed by a dog handler and, of course, a dog understudy.

"Annie" will be on stage at the Paper Mill Playhouse now through December 8th in Millburn. Visit them at www.papermill.org
