NJN Liberty Lecture Series – Meet Lidia Bastianich in Person
Saturday, August 15, 2009 – Liberty State Park, Jersey City

Find out what to do with all those fresh tomatoes, squash, herbs and corn from your local farmers market.

Statewide –   NJN will launch its Liberty Lecture series on Saturday August 15th with a free lecture at Liberty State Park featuring Lidia Bastianich who will talk about cooking with fresh summer produce and local dairy products. This lecture is the first of a series sponsored by NJN that will highlight the best of New Jersey.

Lidia’s lecture will be held from 3 pm to 4 pm at the Central Railroad of NJ Terminal (CRRNJ) at Central Railroad of NJ Terminal, Liberty State Park. There is no charge to attend the lecture, but event registration can be made at njn.net or call 1-800-553-2303.

Following the lecture, there will be an opportunity to talk with Lidia at a special reception in the Blue Comet Auditorium in the CRRNJ Terminal at Liberty State Park. A fee will be charged and attendees are limited to 75.  Lidia’s latest book, Lidia Cooks from the Heart of Italy: A Feast of 175 Regional Recipes, to be released October 2009, can be reserved at this event and attendees can bring their own Lidia cookbook for her to sign. Lidia Bastianich will be live in NJN’s Trenton studio to highlight some of the best from Lidia’s Italy starting at 8 pm on Saturday, August 15.
