STATEWIDE – Most of us have to work – even celebrities! Food Network star, host of “Everyday Italian” and “Behind the Bash” and New York Times cookbook author Giada De Laurentiis will be featured this week on NJN’s NJ Works and will provide practical advice for starting a career. With an impressive background of culinary training and abundant personable charm, Giada De Laurentiis shares her career advice in a special segment to air on NJN on Wednesday, May 3 at 6:30 pm and Saturday, May 6 at 9 am.
Giada De Laurentiis is among an ever-growing number of television chefs and an author of successful cookbooks. As a follow-up to her first cookbook, Everyday Italian, Giada’s second book, Giada’s Family Dinners, is also available at fine bookstores. Her half-hour daytime cooking show, Everyday Italian, features quick, healthy and satisfying dishes using traditional Italian ingredients and techniques. Born in Rome, Giada grew up in a large Italian family where the culture of food was a staple in and of itself. As the granddaughter of film producer Dino De Laurentiis, she learned how to prepare many of the family’s recipes, which were often made for festive gatherings. Giada’s passion for cooking was apparent from the start and flourished through her professional training at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris and in Los Angeles at the prestigious Ritz Carlton Fine Dining Room and Wolfgang Puck’s Spago in Beverly Hills.
