Invitation to Media to Attend Live Broadcast of
US SENATE DEBATE
At NJN Studios, Trenton, NJ
Monday, June 26 at 8 pm

What: NJN will air a televised debate between US Senator Robert Menendez, Democrat, and his Republican opponent NJ State Senator Tom Kean Jr. A panel of reporters will question the two candidates. The media is invited to attend the live one-hour broadcast that will be simulcast on NJN Public Radio. The debate will be rebroadcast on Sunday, July 2 at noon, and will be web cast and archived at www.njn.net. The program is close-captioned.

Where: Studio D, NJN Studios, 25 South Stockton Street, Trenton, NJ.

When: Monday, June 26, at 8 pm. The studio will be open at 6 pm. Please enter NJN through the front entrance on Stockton Street. Parking is available in the garage on Ernie Kovacs Place. Media should arrive by 7:30 pm; doors to the studio will be closed at 7:45 pm. In-place photo opps will be available on the set between 7:35 pm and 7:45 pm.

Moderator: Kent Manahan, NJN News anchor.

Panelists: Michael Aron, senior political correspondent, NJN News; Jim Hooker, NJN State House correspondent; Raju Chebium, Gannett Washington Bureau; and Mike Kelly, The Record.

Reserve seats: To reserve seats, please contact JoAnne Ruscio at (609) 777-3993 or at jruscio@njn.org by 5 pm on Friday, June 23, with the names of reporters who will be attending. Any changes must be phoned in before 6 pm on Monday, June 26. After 6 pm, please call (609) 865-5508 (cell).

Media: Media must have press credentials to be permitted in press area. Seating for the media will be available in Studio D where the debate will be held or in the adjoining Studio A where computer lines will be available and a monitor broadcasting the debate. If you sit in Studio D where the debate takes place, you will not be able to leave until the debate is over since it is a live broadcast. Please note – both studios are kept very cool! Hot coffee and tea will be provided.

Photos: Still photography will be permitted before the debate begins and after the debate has been completed. No audio or video equipment may be used in Studio D during the debate. In-place photo opps will be available on the set between 7:35 pm and 7:45 pm.

Pool Feed: A pool feed will be available on site and the debate will be up-linked on satellite SBS 6 (KU) DIG Transponder11-CHA. Downlink frequency 11953 (H). TEST from 7:30 pm to 8 pm. PROGRAM from 8 pm to 9 pm.
