NJN Holds Town Meetings
Wednesday, April 19 at 6 pm at NJN Trenton Studio
Thursday, April 20 at 6 pm in NJN Newark Studio
STATEWIDE – NJN Public Television & Radio will host two town meetings open to the public at the NJN Trenton Studio on Wednesday, April 19 at 6 pm, and at the NJN Newark Studio on Thursday, April 20 at 6 pm. NJN wants to hear from New Jersey residents about how they view their state and what they expect from their public television and radio station. The town meetings will be facilitated by Dr. Judith M. LeRoy of TRAC Media Services, the nation's leading public television ratings analysis and audience research firm. NJN Trustee Robert Campbell, who chairs the Public Relations and Marketing Committee, is leading the initiative.
Over the past few months, TRAC Media has been surveying viewers, listeners and residents of New Jersey by mail, telephone and the internet as part of The NJN Listening Project. This research will provide NJN with information to improve the station’s services and programming, making NJN more valuable to its audience. Throughout the project, NJN has been connecting with its audience and with residents, listening carefully to what they have to say. In addition to the town meetings, NJN is also holding two viewer panels – one in Newark and one in Trenton. The results of the TRAC Media research will be shared with the public at a later date.
TRAC Media Services has provided ratings analysis and research for public television stations, producers and service organizations since 1979. Their client list encompasses all of the major market public television stations in the United States as well as many of the smaller markets. Producers and distributors, both in the public television system and the private sector rely on TRAC data to determine the success and reach of their productions. The Public Broadcasting Service and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting also contract with TRAC Media Services for research.
