Another View Bookshelf airs on Tuesday, June 21, at 6:30 pm, and Wednesday, June 22, at 11:30 pm.

An accomplished playwright, journalist, poet and novelist, Pearl Cleage probes issues of race, sex and love in her writings, revealing poignant truths surrounding the lives of courageous African-American women. Cleage has drawn national attention with her dramatic works, which include Flyin' West and Blues for an Alabama Sky. Her first novel, What Looks Like Crazy on an Ordinary Day, was an Oprah's Book Club selection and a New York Times bestseller. Cleage shares her thoughts on black womanhood and the inspiration for her latest release, The Babylon Sisters.

Author Michael Eric Dyson discusses his latest book: Is Bill Cosby Right? Dyson is one of the leading African-American voices of our day. A former welfare father from the ghetto of Detroit, Dyson is a critic, scholar and ordained Baptist minister. Dyson shares his passion for contemporary black culture as well as his unique role in the discourse surrounding a number of issues central to the African-American community.
