NJN's Images/Imagenes Honors Fatherhood and Celebrates Mexican Art
Thursdays at 6:30 pm; Sundays at 8 am

STATEWIDE – This month, Images/Imagenes honors fatherhood, looks at the history of Puerto Rico, celebrates Mexican art, music and dance, and examines how to have better health care. For over three decades, Images/Imagenes has examined the critical issues of New Jersey’s Hispanic population. Images can be seen on Thursdays at 6:30 pm and Sundays at 8 am, and is web streamed and archived on the NJN web site at njn.net. The program can be seen on cable stations throughout New Jersey, on NJN’s JerseyVision and on Time Warner Cable on channel 750 in New York.

WHAT’S A FATHER? Thursday, June 9, at 6:30 pm; rebroadcast Sunday, June 12 at 8 am
"Homers are nice, but a healthy son is even better." These are the words of Jorge Posada, all-star catcher of the New York Yankees. He has dedicated his baseball career and his life to his son who was born with craniosynostosis, a medical condition that occurs when the bones of the baby's skull fuse together before the brain stops growing. On behalf of his son, Posada has created a foundation to help other children with the same ailment. Highlighting the stories of dedicated fathers who have gone out of their way to help their families, this episode of Images offers an inspirational look at the role of father in society.

PUERTO RICO Thursday, June 16 at 6:30 pm; Sunday, June 19 at 8 am
In this episode of Images, the show explores the history of the tropical island paradise of Puerto Rico. Journeying back to November of 1493, the documentary explores the day Christopher Columbus landed on a Caribbean island, naming it San Juan Bautista in honor of Saint John the Baptist. Puerto Rico returns to present-day for the country’s 510th anniversary.

MEXICAN ART, MUSIC & DANCE IN NJ Thursday, June 23 at 6:30 pm; Sunday, June 26 at 8 am
Uncover the beautiful work of masters in glass art; learn about the history and traditions of the Day of the Dead; and travel New Jersey, celebrating the Mexican culture with the Mariachi bands and colorful dancers who call this state their home. This is a must-see documentary for the entire family.

RX 4 NJ: THE ROAD TO BETTER HEALTH CARE Thursday, June 30, at 6:30 pm; Sunday, July 3 at 8 am
