Former Governor Tom Kean on the 9-11 Commission
with Kent Manahan and Michael Aron on NJN

STATEWIDE – Former New Jersey Governor Tom Kean, chairman of the 9-11 Commission, talks with Kent Manahan, NJN News anchor and Michael Aron, senior political correspondent, on this week's edition of On the Record on Sunday, July 25 at 9 am and 11 am.

During the first part of the weekly half-hour public affairs program, Governor Kean discusses a wide range of issues surrounding the historic commission's report, its recommendations and expectations. He said the nation is still under the threat of another major terrorist strike – the only unanswered questions are where, when, and the nature of the attack.

Kean also talks about the need for a coordinated federal approach to intelligence gathering and for analysis to fight terrorism. In addition, he discussed the need to change the federal homeland security funding formula in order to send more dollars to states such as New Jersey , where the need is greatest.

During the second half of the program, Senate Minority Leader Leonard Lance (Republican) and Democratic State Committee Chair Bonnie Watson Coleman discuss the Democratic National Convention in Boston with Michael Aron.
