STATEWIDE – Ring in the New Year with two brand new episodes on NJN’s Images/Imagenes. Get a taste of Brazil ’s musical history and learn how to come out on top in a market of Latino consumers.
LATIN JAZZ ON THE HARP – Thursday, January 6, at 6:30 pm ; Sunday, January 9, at 8 am
The history of the harp comes to life with plenty of Latin and jazz flavor as Edmar Castaneda and his band take NJN viewers on a musical journey with one of the world’s first instruments.
FLAMENCO: THE ESSENCE OF DANCE & DRAMA – Thursday, January, 13, at 6:30 pm ; Sunday, January 16, at 8 am
The passion of the Spanish gypsy Flamenco comes to life in a powerful musical production by the Alborada Spanish Dance Theatre. Featured in the production are sensational dancers Lisa Botalico, Chavela, Giselle Revollar, Ricki Santiago and Peter Suarez. Presented by Teatro Si at Kean University , this is dance and drama at its very best.
THE MUSIC OF BRAZIL – Thursday, January, 20, at 6:30 pm ; Sunday, January 23, at 8 am
To honor our South American neighbor, Images/Imagenes features The Music of Brazil with a look at the famous songs and the musicians who have circled the globe as ambassadors of Brazilian art and culture. Featured on this program is the world’s number one guitar duo, the Assad Brothers. Born in Brazil , Sergio and Odair Assad have played a major role in reviving contemporary music for guitar in the United States , Europe and Japan . These Latin Grammy winners are sure to delight our NJN audience with outstanding songs and masterful guitar work.
THE LATINO MARKET – Thursday, January 27, at 6:30 pm ; Sunday, January 30, at 8 am
This program examines the Latino market and the methods advertisers use to capitalize on the billions of dollars available. Representatives from top marketing firms and media networks offer NJN viewers advice and strategies on reaching the Latino consumer.
