70s Soul Legends
An
Upcoming NJN Public Television and PBS Special
STATEWIDE
- Viewers tuning into NJN Public Television will have the
opportunity to attend the television taping of a new national
series for PBS called My Music: 70's Soul Legends.
The premiere episode, which will be recorded December 17 &
18 at The Borgata in Atlantic City, will feature the legends
of 1970's soul, R&B and Motown. The first installment
of My Music will be hosted by Patti LaBelle and will feature
more than sixteen legendary groups of classic soul, including
the following scheduled artists: The Commodores, The Trammps,
Heatwave, Yvonne Elliman, The Stylistics, Al Wilson, The Chi-Lites,
The Manhattans and more. The program will air on NJN and PBS
in 2004.
For information on attending the live concert, watch Rhythm,
Love and Soul, hosted by Aretha Franklin with an all-star
line-up of 60s and 70s performers, on NJN this Friday,
November 7 at 8 pm; Saturday, November 8, at 1 pm; and Tuesday,
November 11, at 8 pm.
My Music:
70's Soul Legends is the creation of executive producer
and New Jersey native TJ Lubinsky, who is teaming up with
NJN to co-produce this national television event. "This
is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for viewers in the tri-state
area to witness history in the making, the superstars of soul
honored for history on public television - right here in Jersey,"
states TJ Lubinsky.

a television taping of performances by some of the best in
