NJN Foundation Board of Trustees

Scott McVay

Scott McVay headed two foundations for 27 years, first as founding director of the Robert Sterling Clark Foundation in New York, then the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation. He is the author of several works on whales, dolphins and porpoises, including the discovery of the song of the Humpback whale and a documentary on the rare Arctic Bowhead whale. He has also written on domestic violence, and books that transform one's life. His interest in expanding learning opportunities for all children and adults, who contribute to the common weal, animates his life. A graduate of Princeton University, Mr. McVay believes that public television and radio, in particular NJN, are fundamental to an informed, engaged citizenry. His passion for education has impacted education not only here in the Garden State, but also on a national and an international level. McVay has been a Trustee of the NJN Foundation since 1999.
