Gwendolyn L. Harris
Gwendolyn Harris is an associate research director for the Senator Walter Rand Institute for Public Affairs located at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in Camden, New Jersey. Ms. Harris has an extensive career in human services and public administration, highlighted by founding Newark Emergency Services of Families, Inc., several years ago, as well as serving as the City of Trenton’s director of health and human services, business administrator, chief of staff and also as commissioner of human services for the State of New Jersey. Ms. Harris holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut and a Masters from the University of Chicago’s School of Social Service Administration. She is currently a doctoral candidate in Urban Planning and Policy at Rutgers University. Ms. Harris resides in Trenton with her husband, Jerome.
Ms. Harris was elected to the NJN Foundation Board of Trustees on June 30, 2009.
